into the pen, she was laying in the barn on her side all sprawled out...
I thought she was gone... I watched for a couple seconds or so and seen her breathing... ok good... I said good morning to her and she raised her head, I helped her up and she went to Sierra and sucked a couple of times... not enough to keep her going for the day... I caught Sierra and DJ held her and I milked her out into a bowl, her bag was so full, I'm sure she was pleased to have it done...
I forced Lucy to eat, and then we milked Sierra some more so I could feed her again before I went to work.
I called Floyd to see if he could give me any advice, he said to cut the nipple just a tiny bit bigger so she wouldn't have to suck as hard, also to add a tsp of sugar for energy and could even add a bit of egg for exrta strength for her...
At 10:30 I went to feed her again.. she drank about 2 ozs. I massaged her belly and that seemed to bring out a bit more poop.
she was sitting up better and I left for work...
Stacy phoned me later and said she was walking around a bit and there was poop on her back end. I just didn't hear how much...
man this little girl was "a explosion of poop" is how DJ described it.
Albert called later about 3 and said she was up and about and he watched her nurse on Sierra for about 5 mins or more!!
things are looking up.
I got home at 4 for supper and they had fed Lucy 2 ozs of formula from a bottle and she was still looking for more... she I gave her another 3 ozs and said that was enough, too much isn't good either.
By the time I got home at 8:30, she was up and running around a bit!!
her eyes look bright and alert and she was giving kisses again!!
It's so awsome!!
Yesterday I wasn't so sure she would make it through the night.
so things are look good...
we were giving her vege oil 3 times a day since the surgery, and now since the explosion we're going to cut back too 2 times at least for awhile anyway until she's a bit stronger and the sts are out.
thanks so much for the positive thoughts and prayers,
it really helped!!
till next time.....

Never did I think I would be so pleased to see alpaca poo.
I'm happy to hear she is doing better! I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers though!
So glad things are doing well for her. She is a real cutie pie.
