booties from my ancestorial homeland

I finished one bootie from the pattern that Hepsi translated for me...so cute!

I always knew that gramma was finnish, and from Ontario, but today my new friend Hepsi said that she had family move to Ontario too..
I phoned mom to find out more of the story...
it turns out that my great Gpa moved to Ontario from Finland and my gramma was born in Ontario... my grandpa ( that married G'ma) was also from Ontario and his parents had moved from Finland too...
What a small wonderful world it is, that a lady in finland posts a pic of booties that I add to my faves, ask if there is a pattern, and she translates it for a perfect stranger... and then find out that parts of our families moved to Ontario.
Now wouldn't it be weird if we're related too....lol
Here's Lucy in her favourite spot... our old fire pit.
She's always in there, just sitting... crazy girl... good thing we don't use it anymore... and if we do we'll have to make ABSOLULTLY sure that there are no hot spots

I took Lloydyloo ( good nickname Stacey) to the vet today... she has this crusty, scabby, no hair of her face condition....

I thought that it might be from the bugs and just her scratching all the time...but it's been getting bigger and bigger and now it's around her eyes too... but then yesterday I seen it on her upper front legs where I know she can't reach... I called Dr. Rob and took her in to see him today... he was thinking skin mites, and he did a scraping and checked under the microscope and found nothing. looked in a book under a few other things and couldn't find anything there either... so he gave us some anitbiotics ( which I have to give in needle form once a day.... I'm kinda nervous about that as I have never given a needle, I told this to Dr. Rob and he gave me a lesson in needle giving!)

and if we see no improvement in 10 days to stop giving them to her and bring her back and he'll do a biopsy on her... in the mean time just to put Vitamin E cream on her face, to ease the crustyness, poor little thing...

I hope it clears up fast...

till next time...

Wow, the first bootie looks great!
Poor baby alpaca... I hope she's going to be better soon.

Those booties match your cat's eyes in the photo! I'm glad to see Lucy doing so well. I hope Lloyd feels better soon. I imagine she's scratching because it itches... poor thing!

Yes - this internet knitting community is totally amazing, isn't it? The bootie is really cute. Poor Loydyloo (great name!). I hope that her rash clears up soon.

Does Lloydyloo need some sunscreen on that poor naked face too? Poor thing. One of my dogs got a hotspot on her forehead and went to the vet's yesterday. Looks awful - now calling her ole Bullet. She looks like she's been shot.

I hope it gets better soon.
